Q. How long will it take for my child to learn to swim?

A. This really depends on your expectation of 'learning to swim'. At State Swim we believe a child has not learnt to swim until they can swim 400 metres of freestyle in a correct rhythmical style, and that a child should achieve this before they leave primary school.

Our swim class program is designed to take children from being a complete beginner through to this stage.

Q. Are your Pools indoor and heated?

A. Yes they are, all of our swimming schools are indoor modern facilities and we heat our water to 32 degrees C to ensure optimal learning conditions for all swimmer.

Q. Do your swimming lesson programs run by the term?

A. Our programs run all year round, we believe for a child to achieve results they should be enrolled in our program on a regular basis. Most children will swim with us once per week and our grading system allows for our supervisory staff to monitor your child's progress and promote to the next level as soon as they have achieved the goals for the class in which they are in.

Q. Do you award certificates?

A. Yes we do. We believe in recognition of the child's efforts and we have a full series of Merit Awards and Class Graduation Certificates. We also recommend that whenever your child does receive a certificate or Merit Award that you congratulate them and make them feel special for their achievement as this will help in further developing their confidence.

Q. What is your payment structure for swimming lessons?

A. At State Swim we have a variety of Payment Options for our customers as we wish to be as flexible as possible to cater for our customer's needs.
The Payment Options we offer are:

  1. Monthly Payment
  2. Casual Payment

Our monthly payment option has a number of benefits including, permanent booking for the day and time you would like, only having to pay once per month and receive a makeup voucher if you are unable to attend a lesson.

If your unable to come to swimming at a regular time each week or would like to try us out for the first time then the casual payment option may suit you. If you would like to use this option simply contact your local school and see if they have a spot available at a time that is convient for you. Please note that when using casual payment you do not have a permanent spot.

Q. When and How often are my children assessed?

A. As the State Swim program is an ongoing swimming lesson program, your children are constantly being watched by our Instructors. As soon as they are ready for the next level the Instructor will advise the lesson Supervisor who will then review your child. If the Supervisor feels that they are ready, they will be awarded a certificate that day and be in the next swim class the following week. This means that your child receives the time they need to master the skills whilst not being held back in a class they are too advanced for, wasting time and money.
